Kwarbuoy is the musical entity Rick Walsh employs for his rock etc. music.  The roots are mostly in 60s and 70s rock of various types.  Songs of The Beatles, The Who, and Yes are examples of prominent influences.  All of the songs are originals.

So...who is Rick Walsh?

A Dallas native, Rick Walsh has been composing music since he was a teenager.  After completing his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Texas (mid-'70s, a different world), he met his future wife, Dee, at Northway Christian Church in Dallas, the congregation in which he had grown up.  He played bass guitar in a jazz trio prior to graduate studies in choral conducting at the University of Colorado at Boulder (where he eventually earned no additional music degree but rather a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science). Rick retired in 2014 after a 30-year career in IT with GTE/Verizon, during which he earned a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications from the SMU School of Engineering, as well as serving as music director in congregations in Texas and Florida.  Rick completed the Master of Sacred Music degree at SMU/Perkins School of Theology Summa Cum Laude in 2020.  In 2025 he retired after 24 years as the Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Grapevine, Texas.  In his “spare time” Rick continues to compose and in summer 2025 recently released his first Kwarbuoy album, continuing the rock performance passion that began in high school.
