Twelve Original Songs
Each one pretty much different from the others
1. Catalyst Dog
Sadie is my late mother-in-law's dog. We love (most) dogs, but when Sadie comes over and mixes with our two dogs, it is often dog chaos.
2. Left Behind
"Left behind" means lots of things. In this song, there are multiple people saying the words, and they have different perspectives. I'm slow myself, so I have often felt left behind, even though I've always had a materially comfortable life.
3. Anything at All Without You
A love song to my wife, all pretty much true.
4. No Relief in Sight
A ponderous, hard rock song written during the third hottest summer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, which is where I live. We've got to do something.
Katie Batty sings the harmony vocal.
5. Eclipse
Written in response to the April 8th, 2024 total eclipse (where we were). But it's not just about astronomy, is it?
6. Mustard on Me
This is obviously a profound, philosophical song, but despite its depth of meaning, people have liked it from the first time I played it, because it speaks to a common experience of humanity.
7. Investment Blues
A slow, heavy blues song about some of my experiences in investing and related appreciation.
8. Handyman
Another love song, which several people have told me they think is my best song so far. It's sort of a country-rock feeling, which I haven't done much. The first verse is true.
9. I Like Everything About You
Golly! Yet another love song. The influences for this go way back, as you can hear.
Gia Jiha Choi plays piano.
Kimberly Jones and Katie Batty sing harmony vocals.
10. Pavlov's Dog
This one is a lot of fun, I think. And it feels good to play it, feeding my "real rock" need quite nicely.
11. Staying Well and Trying to Be Good
Written toward the beginning of the quarantine associated with the 2020/21 pandemic...
12. Clapping Song
...just a fun instrumental that people (including me) seem to really like.
